Families are the main providers of long term care for people with disabilities. It is estimated that there are 65 million family caregivers across the country who currently provide more than $375 billion in "free" care giving services.
Research has shown that caregiving exacts a heavy emotional, physical and financial toll. Many caregivers who work and provide care experience conflicts between these responsibilities.
UCP affiliates support caregivers with a range of respite care and other support services.
